SPRINGVILLE, Utah, June 15, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Crews rescued a 16-year-old Provo man who suffered a broken leg when a large rock fell Friday evening in Spanish Fork Canyon.

Utah County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue crews responded around 7:22 p.m. to Red Ledges in Diamond Fork Canyon to assist the injured teen.

Spanish Fork police, fire and EMS also responded and the Utah Department of Public Safety used its helicopter to welcome the teen to safety.

The rescue lasted more than three hours, according to the sheriff’s office. The teen was taken by ambulance to Utah Valley Hospital with a broken femur.
