As a kid growing up in Missouri, I always wanted one of these bikes. It’s considered one of the best first off-road bikes for kids, but now there’s an urgent recall due to a dangerous defect that’s putting many Missouri kids at risk.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has just issued an urgent recall for several models of a popular all-terrain bike that is available in Missouri and likely in many garages right now.

It’s for Honda models CRF50F, CRF110F and CRF125FThe bulletin says that the 2023 and 2024 models have this dangerous problem:

“The handle may become detached from the handlebars, posing a risk of collision and injury.”

There has already been one serious knee injury reported in connection with this Honda off-road bike defect, and the recall affects more than 40,000 bikes. These models were available in Missouri in red and white.

If you discover that you have one of these models of Honda off-road bicycles, you should immediately stop your children from riding it and contact the dealer where you purchased the bicycle. Have him/her inspect the bicycle free of charge and repair it if necessary.

If you experience any problems while repairing your bicycle, you can contact the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission to file a complaint.
