There have been significant changes throughout the history of the shrimp industry to stimulate growth and the same needs to happen in India now.

Frozen shrimp, which generated INR 431.4 billion (€4.8 billion/$5.5 billion) in the 2022/23 financial year, retained its position as India's top seafood export, accounting for 41 percent share in terms of volume and 67.7 percent of revenue, according to figures from India's Marine Products Export Development Authority.
