Sibling rivalry is real, people! And this pair of siblings is no different, as they got into a fight because of their kids… over water balloons?

Let’s see how it went!

34m and father of 4. My babies are 13m, 11f, 11m and 8m.

Our youngest suffers from severe sensory and anger management issues and is being evaluated for these (important information for context).

He has already been diagnosed with ODD, but this goes further than that.

My sister (34 – my twin sister) has a 12 year old daughter, “Jane”, who is a spoiled brat – as she is an only child and my sister gives a whole new meaning to “gentle parenting”.

He has a problem with his sister’s upbringing.

That means she doesn’t care for her child because it’s just expressing itself and she doesn’t want to express her personality for her. That sucks.

I love my niece very much, but I don’t like her or my sister.

I don’t know how else to say it.

This is where it starts.

On Saturday we had a memorial service for my uncle, who passed away months ago.

It was held at my brother’s house. There were probably about 12 kids there.

We easily managed to get 40 of the 60 water balloons and the kids had a great time.

It was a huge ordeal. But at one point my youngest decided the water was too much for him, said he was done playing and came to sit with me to dry off.

He tried to be patient.

He was on great behavior, which I was thankful for because he has A LOT of bad days.

But my niece kept coming up to him and throwing more water balloons at him after she was asked to stop.

This sent him into a downward spiral and he became enraged. My sister basically told me to calm my child down and tell him to stop acting like a baby.

She didn’t want to get wet, so every time he tried to throw one back, she started screaming and telling him to stop.

It all started to get dramatic.

At that moment my sister also got involved and shouted at my son: “Don’t you dare, she said she couldn’t get wet because she was wearing white and then it was see-through.”

I told her to tell her daughter to stop throwing water balloons at my son because he already told her to stop and she said, “He’s already wet.”

So basically my niece was fine with throwing at my kid, who had asked her repeatedly to stop, but they wouldn’t let him defend himself.

He did the unthinkable.

The last time my niece came to him I said, “Don’t think about it, he said no.”

She didn’t listen and threw it anyway, so I grabbed the hose next to me and held her wet for 30 seconds.

She immediately starts crying, covers herself and gets into my sister’s car.

My sister starts calling me names, saying that I “knew she would see through it and decided to be a creep anyway.”

His parents have clearly chosen sides.

My mother and father threw her out of the house because of that comment.

However, I am getting messages from my brother-in-law saying that I am a pig and that what I did was inappropriate and offensive and that I should never be allowed near my niece again because I am ‘inappropriate’.

If you can’t take a joke, don’t joke!
