Hey New Jersey residents! Check your Powerball tickets to see if you’ve won a million dollars

A New Jersey lottery player won $1 million playing the Powerball on Monday night.

No one won the jackpot and there was only one ticket that matched the five white balls, and it was sold in the Garden State.

The winning $1 million Powerball ticket was sold at the Family Food Mart on Route 57 in Hackettstown, Warren County.

According to the Powerball website, the lottery jackpot will rise to an estimated $41 million, with a cash option of $19.5 million for Wednesday night’s drawing.

The last time the jackpot was won was on June 10, when a New Jersey lottery player won a jackpot of $222.6 million.

The cost is $2 per ticket, but you can add the Power Play for $1, which increases your potential prize amount up to five times the original prize (except for the jackpot and Match 5). There is also a 10x Power Play opportunity when the jackpot is less than $150 million.

Each player chooses five numbers from 1 to 69 for the white balls and one number from 1 to 26 for the red Powerball. However, you can also let the lottery machine generate a quick pick ticket with random numbers for you.

Lump sum payment or annuity?

The major lotteries in the United States offer two jackpot payout options: annuity and cash.

The annuity option is paid over time. There is an immediate payment and then 29 annual payments, increasing by 5% each year.

The cash option is significantly lower than the advertised jackpot, but is paid out in one go. You don’t have to wait decades for all the money.

Can I win the jackpot and remain anonymous?

In some states, like New Jersey, you can win the lottery anonymously. That wasn’t always the case, but now winners can remain anonymous thanks to a law signed by Governor Phil Murphy.

In other states, a winner’s name and hometown are a matter of public record. Contact your state lottery for more information.
